No matter where we are driving, we all have one thing in mind. Staying safe. Car accidents happen so frequently that we have to always be on edge when driving. In response, many vehicle manufacturers have added safety technology to assist the driver. One vehicle that has these features is the 2020 Hyundai Tucson. What driver assistance features are available? Keep on reading to find out!
Hyundai SmartSense Technology Features
- Smart Cruise Control (SCC) with Stop & Go. This system will use radars to keep a safe distance between you and the vehicle ahead. When you reduce your speed by 6 mph or more, it will turn off but resume when the vehicle ahead moves within 3 seconds.
- Forward Collison-Avoidance Assist with Pedestrian Detection (FCA-Ped). If a potential frontal collision is detected, an alert will be sent out. If necessary, FCA-Ped will automatically apply the brakes.
- Driver Attention Warning (DAW). This system will continuously monitor your driving to find patterns. If it detects drowsy driving, it will alert you with a sound and visual message.
- Lane Keeping Assist (LKA). If you start to drift out of the lane, the Tucson will send out and audio and visual warning. If needed, it will also gently steer you back into the center of the correct lane.
- High Beam Assist (HBA). Remove the annoyance of having to turn your high beams on and off with this feature. When an oncoming vehicle is detected, it will turn off the high beams until they are gone.
- Blind-Spot Collision Warning (BCW). When a vehicle enters one of your blind spots, BCW will send out a visual alert. If you activate the turn signal, an audio alert will be sent.
- Rear Cross-Traffic Collision Warning (RCCW). Back out of parking spots without worrying about oncoming traffic. When a vehicle approaches from either side, RCCW will send out an alert to tell you to stop reversing.
