To start, the 2021 Hyundai Veloster comes in five trims namely, 2.0, 2.0 Premium, Turbo R-Spec, Turbo, and the top-of-the-line, Turbo Ultimate. There’s even a high-performance 2021 Veloster N made specifically for performance enthusiasts. And while the Veloster 2.0 and 2.0 Premium trim levels offer a 2.0L inline 4-cylinder DOHC 16V GDI engine, the Turbo R-Spec, Turbo, and Turbo Ultimate feature a turbocharged 1.6L 4-cylinder Turbo DOHC 16V GDI engine.

The standard 2.0L powered model produces 147 hp and 132 pound-feet of torque, while the 1.6L Turbo models deliver an incredible 201 hp and 195 pound-feet of torque. The Veloster N is in a league of its own with a maximum power output of 275 hp thanks to a 6-speed manual transmission with rev-matching that’s mated to a 2.0L 4-cylinder turbocharged engine. The Veloster N also has some neat tricks up its sleeve like a distinct racecar-like styling complete with decal highlights and tail wing, a racecar sounding exhaust note, and three driving modes – Normal, Sport, and Sport+.
