It may not always happen, but sometimes individuals (and companies) achieve their dreams. For South Korean auto brand Hyundai, the journey was long and difficult when it came to reaching its North American goals, but success has been attained. Let's take a look back at the persistent brand's journey over the years.
Hyundai first entered the North American market in 1986 with one model, the Hyundai Excel, a vehicle that the brand would later somewhat regret, as it was plagued with recalls and reliability issues, though it was very popular at its time of release. Despite this faulty start, however, the brand eventually (and truly) found its "feet" with the introduction of the 2012 Hyundai Sonata. Of course, the entire 21st century has been a stellar one for the brand, especially for the Hyundai Santa Fe and the Hyundai Elantra, which have both received numerous awards over the past few years.
Hyundai also succeeded because of its 10 year/10,00 mile vehicle warranty, which was much higher than that of other auto brands. The Hyundai Assurance program, launched in 2009 during the financial crisis, was also a huge bonus, as it allowed drivers to return their vehicles if they became unemployed within a year of the purchase. This solidified the brand's commitment to its drivers and significantly improved its image.
Here at Hyundai of St. Augustine, conveniently located at 2898 US Highway 1 St. Augustine, FL 32086, we know the brand will only continue to grow, and we're certainly impressed with this year's batch of new Hyundai models.
