In the 2013 model year, the Hyundai Veloster is being given a performance-driven kick in the form of its new Turbo trim. It's a move that everyone here at Hyundai of St. Augustine is quite excited about as it offers a greater level of performance without sacrificing much in the way of fuel economy.

Still, that doesn't mean there's no room left for further improvement in the Veloster lineup. In fact, Hyundai may even be planning another performance-driven variant for the 2013 model year... Or at least, so say the editors at Motor Authority.

They've been trying to get Hyundai to spill the beans on the possibility of a third trim for the Veloster in 2014, but haven't had any luck yet. Thus far, they've only admitted to leaving room in the lineup for an even more aggressive model.

But what would such a model be called?

Motor Authority editors have pointed to Veloster Turbo R-Spec as a possible name. They've even provided a few ideas for what kind of performance enhancements we might see under the hood. They include...

-          Revised suspension tuning
-          Mechanically adjustable dampers
-          Lower ride height
-          Independent rear suspension
-          More power from its 1.6-liter turbo engine
