Two new Hyundai models recently debuted at the 2012 New York International Auto Show, and Hyundai of St. Augustine, serving St. Augustine, Palm Coast, Ormond Beach, Daytona Beach, Gainesville and Jacksonville, Florida has the inside scoop just for you.
Well, actually, they're not so much new models as they are completely redesigned ones adopting new model names. Sound complicated? It's not. We promise.
First, there's the 2012 Hyundai Santa Fe. Going into the 2013 model year, it will be renamed the Hyundai Santa Fe Sport. This new name fits perfectly with the five-passenger crossover's feisty weight-to-power ratio, which is the best in its class, and its envious fuel economy, which is as well.
Meanwhile, the 2012 Hyundai Veracruz that we know and love will adopt the old Hyundai Santa Fe name in its 2013 model year. The seven-passenger model will feature 3.3-liter GDI V6 engine with 290 horsepower.
Something both models share in common? Aside from the famous Santa Fe name, both new Hyundai models are set to feature the company's all-new "Strom Edge" design language. Based on the "Fluidic Sculpture" design, "Storm Edge" makes use of bold side character lines and voluminous surfaces to create an aggressive-yet-elegant look that is sure to compliment any larger Hyundai model that it graces.
The 2013 Hyundai Santa Fe Sport is set to go on sale at Hyundai of St. Augustine later this summer. Meanwhile, the 2013 Hyundai Santa Fe will be available in January of 2013.
