Hyundai is preparing to wow up to 34 million people every year now in London as they prepare to take over Sanyo's spot on the Piccadilly Circus' famous neon sign in London. The well known city section of London has played host to a number of other company's advertisements for years.
Previous to being dethroned by Hyundai, Sanyo held its spot on the Piccadilly lights for nearly 30 years. In other words, this is an advertising spot that many companies would love to have. To further cement this notion, this is the first time that a different brand has stepped in to advertise on the sign since 1994 when Samsung replace Panasonic.
Now, Hyundai's £2 million deal will earn them a spot on the famous sign with the likes of McDonalds, TDK, Samsung, and Coca-Cola (which has held its spot since 1955). Furthermore, this fall, the structure of Sanyo's former spot will change from a neon light to an LED display when Hyundai moves in.
Here at Hyundai of St. Augustine, we are eager to find out which models in Hyundai's lineup will make it onto the Piccadilly lights. Personally we'd love to see the new Hyundai Sonata Hybrid, or the all new Hyundai Elantra make the cut. But, we'll just have to wait until the fall when Hyundai claims its spot.
If you'd like to light up the town in your own new Hyundai model, like the Equus or Genesis, feel free to visit Hyundai of St. Augustine today at 2898 US Highway 1 St. Augustine, FL 32086. And, remember to stay tuned. There is more Hyundai news, coming soon!
